The beach clubs of Hurghada
In Hurghada, the beach club is an institution: sunbeds, parasols, a pool or a beach, music, a bar and a restaurant, often almost in the water. You spend the day there and stay on for sunset, when the mood lifts a notch. The easiest to reach are around the Marina; the most laid-back are in El Gouna.
How a Hurghada beach club works
You pay an entry fee, sometimes turned into drinks credit, or a minimum spend at the bar; a sunbed and towel are usually included, and each club has its own formula, so ask what's included before you settle in.
Get there in the morning if you want front-row sunbeds. In the afternoon the clubs fill up and the music follows. Sunset is the big moment: around 6.30pm in early October, around 5pm in December.
At the Marina: Blue Beach Club
Blue Beach Club, on El Melal street along the Marina boulevard, brings together a sandy beach, a pool, a restaurant, a bar and a lounge area, and its Tripadvisor listing showed opening hours of 8am to 2am when we checked.
It's the easiest to reach from the centre: you arrive in swimwear and leave in a shirt, which sums up Hurghada rather well.
In El Gouna: Moods, Makani, La Playa, The Smokery
El Gouna's official site (August 2026 article) mentions Moods, a lively beach club by the water, Makani Beach Club on the kitesurfing side, and two more relaxed beach options: The Smokery Beach Bar & Restaurant and La Playa.
El Gouna's mood is calmer than Hurghada's. For a day there, plan the return trip in advance: half an hour of road from the centre, and a day visitor's entry authorisation arranged the day before.
What about Mahmya?
Mahmya beach, in the Giftun islands, works like a laid-back beach club set in the middle of the sea, boat crossing included; Hurghada Habibi runs it from €80, meal included.
What to bring
- Swimwear, and a towel if the club doesn't provide one
- Sun cream, sunglasses, a hat
- An outfit for the evening if you're staying after sunset
- A way to pay: card or cash depending on the club
- A charged phone for the ride home

Many equipped beaches offer parasailing, towed inflatables or jet skis; we give you prices on request and point you to a well-established beach base.
Getting there and back
By app (Uber, Careem) or with a booked driver; at night, head back together, and for El Gouna, book the return before you set off.
