Where Eden Island is and how you get there
By boat from Hurghada, roughly forty minutes depending on the harbour, with a pick-up from your hotel in the morning and a drop-off in the late afternoon.
Not a fan of long crossings? This is your island. You're there quickly, which leaves more hours on the sand.
How the day goes
- Hotel pick-up, then off by yacht.
- A snorkelling stop over a reef.
- Arrival on the island, time to settle in.

- Swimming, photos, free time, then back to Hurghada.
What there is to see and do
A bank of pale sand, water that turns from light green to deep blue within a few metres, and reefs a few fin kicks away: you come to swim, take photos and do very little, in whatever order suits you.
The big difference with Giftun? Lunch happens on land, not on the boat, so you get a proper break ashore. For photos, aim for late morning, when the sun is high enough to make the sandy bottom glow without flattening the colours. On the reef stops you'll meet parrotfish, shoals of small silver fish and rounded coral heads.
One habit worth keeping: look, photograph, don't touch. Coral grows a few millimetres a year.
Best time to go
All year round; on calm days the surface is flatter and the colours sharper, and mornings are usually the best moment whatever the season.
What to bring
- Water shoes (the sand sometimes hides bits of coral)
- Reef-friendly sun cream and a UV rash vest
- Cap and sunglasses
- A waterproof pouch, a towel, dry swimmers for the way back
